Fix Synchronization issues Lync 2010

The Windows Lync 2010 client might have Synchronization issues with the address book. For example Contacts & Groups not being showed. Re-installing the client doesn’t help and in order to get the synchronization going you should execute the following fix:

Make sure that you perform below fix with an Administrator account
1. Close Lync 2010 “Right Click in System Tray -> Exit
2. Go to “Start -> Run -> CMD
3. Copy the following command and Paste in the CMD window:

reg add HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator /v GalDownloadInitialDelay /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

4. Open Lync and wait for approximately 5 minutes
5. You should now be able to search contacts in Lync 2010

If things are still not working as they should try to restart your computer.
